A monthly look at the Minnesota FIRST® LEGO® League season...

May - September

►FIRST®  National Team Registration

  • Register your team nationally with FIRST.
  • Purchase a new field setup kit.
  • Purchase the NXT robot... if you do not already have one. 
  • National Registration closes Sept 30 or when FIRST has no more field kits. Teams that do not register by this date will not have the materials necessary to compete. We encourage teams to register by mid-September.
August
►Field Setup Kits begin to ship
► FIRST website announces the Challenge the last week of August.

►National FIRST Team Registration closes end of September.
  • Update your team profile and coach contact information.  
  • We use this coach(s) email to inform you of important Minnesota FLL training and events. 
September-October 
►Rookie Team Training, Coach Training, Research Workshops
►Minnesota Regional Tournament Registration SEPT 15th
  • The MN Regional registration will open in September. This $60 is the only financial support High Tech Kids receives from teams.
  • You will select your top tournament preferences.
  • Tournament placement will be done on a first-come, first-serve basis .
  • Each team is allowed to compete in ONE Regional Tournament.
  • Regional Tournament Preference and Fee due by October 15.

►MN FLL State Championship, only for advancing teams, $100 per team
